Faded Sun

I made this my sophomore year in high school. At the time I was really obsessed with C. J. Cherryh and when I got the assignment option of doing a book cover illustration, I chose the Faded Sun Trilogy. It was done with watercolors. The figure is intended to be Niun, the main mri (alien race) character and the thing farther back a dus (alien animal).
