Just Stoopin by FamiliarOddlings Just Stoopin by FamiliarOddlings
It's Beartato and Reginald! Sitting together on my front stoop. They belong to nedroid. Go check his page: [link]

Obviously this is technically fan art but I can't find 'textiles' under the fan art category. What's with that? Only 2D fan art?

Anyway.

One day I woke up feeling very antsy to make something really hands-on but Fimo just wasn't appealing. So I pulled out my wool and needle felting tools and grabbed some ref pics off nedroid's page and made these lovely two fellows! They only took a day each. They have pipe cleaner structures underneath and are stuffed with dryer lint, but the rest is wool. Reginald, the blue/purplish bird guy, is nearly 6 in. (15 cm) tall when he stands up straight and Beartato, the bear/potato thing, is just over 4 in. (10 cm).

I very pleased with how they came out. :D They're hanging out together on my desk now.

Pretty close: it's a snail-primate, specifically a slow loris. Your avatar is pretty awesome too. :)

Oh my gosh the little felty animals are the best. You did such an excellent job on making them, they look really perfect. I really love how you did their expressions, very fun. You did such a good job on all their little shapes such as Beartato's nose and chin and Reginald's beak. I am so terrible at making things like this. Seeing them makes me really happy.:blackrose:

Thank you so much! :hug: The small shapes, like Beartato's nose and Reginald's beak were the hardest parts because they're so small. :D They live for smiles! :love:

Aw, they're adorable and look very well-made. I couldn't manage to make anything close for lack of skillz and patience. :D Very wonderful, detailed work as always.

Thanks! :D The felting process does take quite a bit of patience, but it's kind of a relief from projects that require so much brain-work, like writing. Relaxing to just poke-poke for hours. :)

That's sort of why I wanted to take up knitting eventually, since it promotes just letting your mind wander when you're stressed out with other things. Maybe that's something I should think of doing after I drop the writing for a little while...

Yes, I think knitting is good for that. My sister does it a lot, but I've forgotten how. ^^;

I was never so great at it myself. I want to learn more so I can make something eventually. BTW, I'll be on Yahoo messenger later tonight, I was just writing when you came on the first time.
