A surprise gift for =DreamingMyth! I hope it cheers you up, my friend!
I was looking through her gallery the other day and found this lovely character, Pride! I hope I didn't mess it up too badly. I wanted to do some dramatic lighting and so the colors are kinda weird. I was trying to make it a speedpaint (since there are a lot of things I should be doing--I'm so behind!) and just kept working on it ... for a week. So it's rough but I can't honestly say it's a speedpaint, it just looks like it. Also, I'm still learning the Painter program and experimenting around. This is the first time I've tried the acrylics. I used some horse reference photos and looked up the structure of a bat's wing, which helped.
Very cool. I am in love with the colouring on this and just the way you did the colours in general, they are so pretty. The thing that is so neat is that you captured Pride's face so perfectly but in a different style. However, the original face is still there which makes it so neat. The "stones" inlayed in the skin turned out amazing too, they look so real. And I love that horn as well. The lighting around the edges of the body looks very cool, I really like this piece overall.
