Two Spot Octopus by FamiliarOddlings Two Spot Octopus by FamiliarOddlings
Say hello to Aglaya, the two spot octopus!

The California two spot octopus (Octopus bimaculoides) is the most common species of octopus kept as a pet. They are very active, friendly, and inventive. Here is my artistic representation of one, taking, ahem, artistic liberties with the coloration. :D

Needle felted wool over pipe cleaner with paper clay eyes and beak. Stands at about 8 inches with a diameter of 12 inches when tentacles are spread.

Not for sale yet 'cause I want to put her in an exhibition I'm having this summer. :) But check out my etsy shop for other interesting things: [link]

How beautiful!! Those suckers are just gorgeous, I long to touch them!! I love the end of her legs with those soothing purple colours. The eyes are so realistic and gosh those eyebrow ridges are wonderful with the little point they have. Of course the arm holding the pencil is an adorable touch as always.:blackrose:

:omfg: This is stunning. I can't even describe how amazed I am with this! Everything is smooth and even and symmetrical! I have to ask, is every sucker an individual piece felted on? Either way, it is obviously a labor of love!
you inspire me. I can only wish to be half as skilled with wool and a needle as you are someday! (:

So you see what I mean, it turned out orange... but purple too. And this orange was actually supposed to be brown, but I guess I didn't get the balance right.
